Cabo de Palos lighthouse garden
Weather: Sky 1/8 cloud, wind NW F4, temp. 11ºC.  08:20 – 09:05.

Back to the lighthouse garden this morning, with the stiff NW wind still blowing (when is it ever going to stop) and very few birds showing.  The only migrants of note were 3 Corn Buntings, 3 Willow Warblers, a couple of Swallows and a female Common Redstart.

Marchamalo salinas
Weather: Sky 1/8 cloud, wind NW F4, temp. 15ºC.  09:10 – 09:30.

Form the lighthouse garden I made a quick call at the Salinas.  Again, nothing startling there, the most notable birds being a Woodchat Shrike, Common Whitethroat, 8 Kentish Plover, a Spotted Redshank and a group of Slender-billed Gulls, now numbering 69.

Mar Menor, Los Urrutias / Rambla de Albujon
Weather: Sky 3/8 cloud, wind SW F3, temp. 21ºC.  17:20 – 19:00

Back at the sailing club area in Los Urrutias again to see if there’s any change, but the only different birds are 4 Slender-billed Gulls and a Common Redshank, so I continued on to the rambla de Albujon.  Here of note I had 2 Great Reed Warblers singing, a single remaining Common Snipe, the Water Pipit in breeding plumage, 3 Black Winged Stilts, and both Little Ringed and Kentish Plovers.
